These soft sourdough dinner rolls are fluffy, flavorful, and perfect for any meal.
Ingredients

- 1 cup active sourdough starter
- 1 cup warm milk
- 4 tablespoons butter, softened
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix sourdough starter, warm milk, butter, sugar, and egg.
- Add salt and flour gradually, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled.
- Punch down the dough and divide into 12–15 equal pieces.
- Shape into rolls and place in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise again until puffy.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush warm rolls with melted butter before serving.
Notes
For extra softness, let the dough rise slowly in the refrigerator overnight.
