Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara or pasta sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
  • Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  4. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  6. Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1 minute to deepen the flavor.
  7. Pour in marinara sauce and add red pepper flakes if using. Simmer for 10–15 minutes.
  8. Add cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  9. Serve hot with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil on top.

Notes

For a richer flavor, add a splash of red wine while the sauce simmers. You can also add chopped mushrooms or bell peppers to the sauce.
