Description

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and sauté until soft.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  5. Pour in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste.
  6. Season with basil, oregano, sugar, salt, and pepper.
  7. Reduce heat and let the sauce simmer for 25–30 minutes.
  8. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve over cooked spaghetti.

Notes

Simmer longer for an even deeper flavor. This sauce freezes beautifully for future meals.
