- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cups water
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 8 oz uncooked spaghetti, broken in half
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic; cook until softened.
- Stir in water, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Add broken spaghetti to the skillet, pressing it into the liquid.
- Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once pasta is tender, sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan over the top.
- Cover and cook 2–3 minutes more until cheese is melted.
- Serve hot straight from the skillet.
Notes
Add crushed red pepper for heat or substitute ground turkey for a lighter version.
