A hearty, flavorful, one-pan spaghetti skillet dinner made with tender pasta, savory ground beef, tomatoes, and melted cheese — perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 8 oz uncooked spaghetti, broken in half
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned.
  2. Add diced onion and minced garlic; cook until softened.
  3. Stir in water, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Add broken spaghetti to the skillet, pressing it into the liquid.
  5. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Once pasta is tender, sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan over the top.
  7. Cover and cook 2–3 minutes more until cheese is melted.
  8. Serve hot straight from the skillet.

Notes

Add crushed red pepper for heat or substitute ground turkey for a lighter version.
