Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted (for topping)
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix mashed sweet potatoes, sugar, eggs, melted butter, milk, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly into a greased baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, melted butter, and pecans to make the topping.
  5. Sprinkle topping evenly over sweet potato mixture.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the casserole is set.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

You can prepare this casserole a day ahead and bake just before serving. For a sweeter twist, add mini marshmallows on top during the last 10 minutes of baking.
