Description
A southern-style, juicy meatloaf glazed with a tangy Tennessee whiskey-infused sauce that brings a bold and comforting flavor to every bite.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons Tennessee whiskey (e.g., Jack Daniel’s)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, bread crumbs, chopped onion, milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper.
- Mix thoroughly until well combined but not overmixed.
- Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan or form into a loaf shape on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix the barbecue sauce and Tennessee whiskey.
- Brush half of the whiskey glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake for 45 minutes, then brush the remaining glaze over the top.
- Return to oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Use a mix of beef and pork for a juicier loaf. Letting it rest before slicing helps keep it moist.
