Description

Light, fresh, and flavorful Thai Basil Turkey Lettuce Wraps made with ground turkey, aromatics, and a savory Thai-inspired sauce wrapped in crisp lettuce leaves.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
  • 1 head butter lettuce or romaine lettuce, separated into cups
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and onion, sauté until fragrant.
  3. Stir in ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it apart.
  4. Add diced red bell pepper and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stir in soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, sriracha, and brown sugar. Mix well.
  6. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the turkey.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in fresh Thai basil leaves until wilted.
  8. Spoon the turkey mixture into lettuce cups.
  9. Top with sliced green onions.
  10. Serve with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

For extra flavor, add chopped peanuts or drizzle with chili oil before serving. Great for a light meal or appetizer.
