Description
A sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy Thai sweet chili sauce perfect for dipping, drizzling, and cooking.
Ingredients

- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup rice vinegar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1–2 tablespoons red chili flakes
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water (for slurry)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine water, rice vinegar, sugar, honey, garlic, chili flakes, and soy sauce.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Stir until sugar dissolves completely.
- Mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water to form a slurry.
- Slowly stir slurry into the saucepan.
- Simmer for 3–5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and let cool before serving.
- Store in an airtight jar in the refrigerator.
Notes
Adjust chili flakes to control the heat level. Sauce thickens further as it cools.
