Description

This Thanksgiving Caesar Salad is a festive twist on the classic. Crisp romaine, creamy homemade dressing, and crunchy croutons are finished with roasted squash and shaved Parmesan—perfectly balancing rich holiday dishes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 heads romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup roasted butternut squash cubes
  • 1/2 cup shaved Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup homemade or store-bought croutons
  • 1/2 cup Caesar dressing (see note)
  • Fresh cracked black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: toasted pecans or walnuts for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Toss squash cubes with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Roast for 20–25 minutes or until tender and slightly golden. Let cool.
  2. In a large salad bowl, combine chopped romaine, roasted squash, Parmesan, and croutons.
  3. Add Caesar dressing and toss until everything is evenly coated.
  4. Top with cracked black pepper and optional nuts if using.
  5. Serve immediately as a fresh and crisp holiday starter or side.

Notes

Use homemade Caesar dressing with anchovy, lemon, garlic, and Dijon for the best flavor. Add grilled chicken or turkey for a heartier version.
