Ingredients
Scale
- 1 loaf white bread, cubed and dried
- 1 cup celery, finely chopped
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.

- In a large mixing bowl, combine dried bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, parsley, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs and chicken broth. Pour over the bread mixture and stir until evenly moistened.
- Shape mixture into balls, about the size of a golf ball, and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp on the outside.
- Serve warm as a side dish or appetizer.
Notes
For extra flavor, mix in cooked sausage or chopped mushrooms. Best served immediately, but can be reheated in the oven to crisp up again.
