An easy and flavorful Crockpot Chicken Gyros recipe packed with Greek flavors and paired with a fresh homemade tzatziki sauce.

- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 onion, diced
- ¼ cup water
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 2 Tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- ¼ teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon lemon pepper
- 1 cup fat free plain Greek yogurt
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- ½ cup grated cucumber
- 2 Tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Spray the slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
- Add chicken breasts, garlic, lemon juice, onion, water, olive oil, red wine vinegar, oregano, allspice, and lemon pepper.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until chicken is fully cooked and tender.
- Shred the chicken and stir to mix with the juices in the slow cooker.
- For the tzatziki sauce, combine Greek yogurt, garlic, grated cucumber, parsley, and salt in a mixing bowl. Mix well.
- Serve the shredded chicken in pita bread or wraps topped with tzatziki sauce and your favorite gyro toppings.
Notes
Great served with pita, tomatoes, red onions, and feta. Make tzatziki a few hours ahead for best flavor.
