It’s simple to make yet looks impressive, making it ideal for gifting or serving at parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • ⅔ cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • White chocolate candy melts
  • Pink candy melts
  • Red candy melts
  • Valentine sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine butter, sugar, water, and corn syrup. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture reaches 300°F (150°C) on a candy thermometer.
  3. Immediately pour the hot toffee mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  4. Sprinkle semisweet chocolate chips evenly over the hot toffee and let sit for 2 minutes to soften.
  5. Spread the melted chocolate into an even layer with an offset spatula.
  6. Melt white, pink, and red candy melts separately and drizzle over the chocolate layer.
  7. Immediately add Valentine sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet.
  8. Let cool completely at room temperature or refrigerate for 30 minutes until set.
  9. Break into pieces and store in an airtight container.

Notes

Tips: For best results, use a candy thermometer to ensure the toffee reaches the proper temperature. Work quickly when spreading the toffee as it sets fast. Substitutions: You can use milk chocolate instead of semisweet if preferred. Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks or refrigerate for up to 3 weeks.
