- 1 cup active sourdough starter
- 1/2 cup pureed fresh strawberries
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 2 1/2 cups bread flour
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- For the Add-ins:
- 1/2 cup fresh diced strawberries
- 1/3 cup white chocolate chips
- For the Topping:
- 2 tablespoons flour for dusting
- Additional white chocolate chips for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine sourdough starter, pureed strawberries, warm water, bread flour, sugar, and salt. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and add the diced strawberries and white chocolate chips. Fold the dough over the add-ins and shape into a round loaf.
- Place the loaf on the prepared baking sheet, dust with flour, and garnish with additional white chocolate chips.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
Notes
Tips: Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor and texture. If using frozen strawberries, thaw and pat dry with paper towels before using. Store leftover bread at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
