Featuring a flaky, buttery crust layered with a sweet and tangy cream cheese filling, and topped with a generous sprinkle of cinnamon sugar, this dessert offers a harmonious blend of textures and flavors that will satisfy any sweet tooth.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cinnamon Sugar:

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

For the Cheesecake Bars:

  • Two 8-ounce packages refrigerated crescent roll dough or sheets
  • 16 ounces full-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled

Instructions

  • Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar:

    • In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
  • Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and position a rack in the middle. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan and sprinkle 1-2 tablespoons of the prepared cinnamon sugar evenly over the bottom.
  • Layer the Dough:

    • Open one tube of crescent roll dough. Unroll it and press the seams together to form a single rectangular sheet. Place this sheet into the bottom of the prepared baking pan, ensuring it covers the entire base.
  • Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling:

    • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the ¾ cup of granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Continue beating until the mixture is creamy and well combined.
  • Assemble the Cheesecake:

    • Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over the dough layer in the pan.
    • Unroll the second tube of crescent roll dough, press the seams together, and place it over the cream cheese layer, covering it completely.
  • Add Toppings:

    • Pour the melted butter over the top layer of dough, spreading it evenly.
    • Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture over the buttered dough.
  • Bake:

    • Bake in the preheated oven for 26-30 minutes, or until the top is puffed and golden brown.
  • Cool and Serve:

    • Remove from the oven and place on a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, transfer to the refrigerator to chill thoroughly. Once chilled, cut into bars and serve.

Notes

Optional Toppings: Enhance your Churro Cheesecake Bars by serving them with dulce de leche, salted caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, honey, vanilla ice cream, or fresh strawberries.
