- 2 cups pasta (penne or any short pasta)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup mixed veggies (optional)
Instructions
- Boil the pasta according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
- In a pan, heat butter and add flour.
- Whisk continuously to form a smooth roux.
- Slowly pour in milk while whisking to avoid lumps.
- Add salt, pepper, and garlic, then simmer until sauce thickens.
- Stir in parmesan cheese and mix until melted.
- In another pan, sauté veggies in olive oil if using.
- Combine cooked pasta with the white sauce and veggies.
- Toss well and cook for 1–2 minutes.
Notes
Adjust milk for desired sauce thickness. Add extra cheese for a richer flavor.
