Description

Soft and fluffy cinnamon rolls filled with a buttery cinnamon sugar swirl and topped with a creamy glaze.


Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 8 minutes until smooth.
  4. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangle.
  6. Spread softened butter over the dough.
  7. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over buttered dough.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 even pieces.
  9. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 18-20 minutes.
  11. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze.
  12. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

For extra soft cinnamon rolls, allow them to rise overnight in the fridge and bake in the morning.
