Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a 12‑cup muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a medium bowl whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl combine mashed bananas, melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, vanilla, and sour cream; mix until smooth.
- Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about three‑quarters full.
- Bake for 18‑20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool the muffins in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Optional: Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top before baking for extra indulgence.
Notes
Do not overmix the batter to keep the muffins tender; you can add walnuts or oats for variation.
