Description

A moist, sweet banana bread made with just three main ingredients, perfect for using up overripe bananas.


Ingredients

  • 5 very ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 21/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  3. Add the sweetened condensed milk and mix well.
  4. Stir in the eggs and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually fold in the self-rising flour until just combined.
  6. If using, fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a nutty twist, add chopped walnuts.
