Ingredients

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add ground beef, breaking it up, and cook until browned; drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in onion, garlic, and red bell pepper; sauté until softened.
  4. Mix in paprika, black pepper, dried oregano, and salt; cook 1 minute.
  5. Add crushed tomatoes and simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  8. Spread shredded mozzarella and cheddar evenly over the top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Let the casserole rest 5 minutes before serving for cleaner slices.
