- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Chopped parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add ground beef, breaking it up, and cook until browned; drain excess fat.
- Stir in onion, garlic, and red bell pepper; sauté until softened.
- Mix in paprika, black pepper, dried oregano, and salt; cook 1 minute.
- Add crushed tomatoes and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spread shredded mozzarella and cheddar evenly over the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
Let the casserole rest 5 minutes before serving for cleaner slices.
