  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar, divided
  • 1/2 cup shredded gruyere, divided
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground mustard
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice zucchini and sprinkle with kosher salt. Let sit for 20 minutes, then pat dry.
  3. In a saucepan, heat heavy cream and cream cheese until smooth.
  4. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, ground mustard, and pepper.
  5. Add half of the cheddar and gruyere to the sauce, stirring until melted.
  6. Layer zucchini in a greased baking dish.
  7. Pour cheese sauce over the zucchini.
  8. Top with remaining cheddar and gruyere.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

To reduce moisture, salt and dry the zucchini well before layering. This helps avoid a watery gratin.
