A moist and flavorful banana bread packed with chocolate chips and crunchy pecans.
Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon table salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 cups very ripe mashed bananas (about 3–4 bananas)
- ¾ cup mini chocolate chips
- ½ cup pecans, chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl whisk together the two flours, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl beat the melted butter with sugar until combined.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- Fold in the mashed bananas until smooth.
- Add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and stir until just combined.
- Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Sprinkle the remaining mini chocolate chips over the surface.
- Bake for 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Optional: add ¼ cup sour cream for extra moisture.
