Ingredients

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 package (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup apple pie filling, chopped
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  5. Roll dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  6. Spread apple pie filling evenly over the dough.
  7. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon on top.
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 pieces.
  9. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze.
  12. Drizzle glaze over warm cinnamon rolls before serving.

Notes

For best results, use fresh apple pie filling. Let the rolls cool slightly before adding the glaze for perfect consistency.
