A comforting, homestyle meatloaf made with juicy ground beef, breadcrumbs, and a tangy ketchup glaze.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ketchup (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, ketchup, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; mix gently until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place on a baking sheet or in a loaf pan.
- Mix brown sugar with 2 tbsp ketchup; spread evenly over the top of the loaf.
- Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Let rest 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For extra moisture, you can add 1/4 cup grated carrots or zucchini to the meat mixture.
