Description

A hearty, tangy sandwich featuring tender corned beef, melted Swiss cheese, and a zesty mustard spread on toasted rye bread.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz corned beef, sliced
  • 4 slices rye bread
  • 2 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 leaf lettuce
  • 2 slices tomato
  • 1 tsp mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Spread mustard on one side of each rye bread slice.
  2. Layer corned beef evenly on two slices, spreading slightly.
  3. Place Swiss cheese on top of the corned beef.
  4. Add lettuce and tomato if using.
  5. Close the sandwiches with the buttered side down in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until bread is golden and cheese melts.
  7. Remove from heat and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a thin layer of mayonnaise before grilling.
