Description

A moist banana bread swirled with a tangy cream cheese layer, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • ½ cup butter, softened at room temperature
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened at room temperature
  • 2 Tablespoon sour cream
  • 1 egg
  • 3 Tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 Tablespoon flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl cream softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add egg and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Stir in Greek yogurt and mashed bananas until combined.
  6. Fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture just until incorporated.
  7. In a separate bowl beat cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, vanilla, and 3 tablespoons flour until smooth.
  8. Spread half of the banana batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  9. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the batter in an even layer.
  10. Top with the remaining banana batter and smooth the surface.
  11. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  12. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  13. Slice and serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, fold in chopped walnuts or chocolate chips into the batter before baking.
