Ingredients

- 2 lb beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 packet brown gravy mix
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Season the beef stew meat with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the meat in batches, then transfer to the slow cooker.
- Add the sliced onion and minced garlic to the skillet, sauté for 2 minutes, then place in the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, combine beef broth, brown gravy mix, and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until smooth.
- Pour the mixture over the meat and vegetables in the slow cooker.
- Cook on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the meat is tender.
- Stir occasionally and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve hot garnished with chopped parsley.
Notes
For a thicker gravy, remove the lid during the last 30 minutes of cooking to reduce the sauce. Leftovers reheat well.
