- 1 lb Lean ground beef
- 1 Small onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon Onion powder
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Black pepper
- 1 packet Brown gravy mix (0.87 ounces)
- 1 cup Cold water
- 1 can (10 ounces) Cream of mushroom soup
- ½ cup Sour cream
- 1 bag (12 ounces) Wide egg noodles
- 2 teaspoon Dried parsley
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the onion and sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in garlic powder and onion powder, cooking for 30 seconds.
- Add the lean ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned, about 5-6 minutes.
- Season with salt and black pepper, then sprinkle the flour over the meat and stir to coat.
- Pour in the cold water and brown gravy mix, stirring until smooth.
- Add the cream of mushroom soup and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Reduce heat and let the sauce thicken for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in sour cream and dried parsley, mixing until fully incorporated.
- Meanwhile, cook the wide egg noodles according to package directions, then drain.
- Serve the beef stroganoff over the noodles and enjoy.
Notes
For extra richness, add a splash of Worcestershire sauce or a pinch of paprika.
