Description

Soft, fluffy cinnamon buns with a rich buttery cinnamon filling and a delicious glaze.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add sugar, melted butter, salt, eggs, and flour. Mix until combined.
  3. Knead the dough for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Roll the dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter over it.
  7. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the butter.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 even pieces.
  9. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze.
  12. Drizzle over warm cinnamon buns and serve.

Notes

For extra gooey buns, add a drizzle of heavy cream before baking.
