A quick and indulgent twist on the classic Monte Cristo sandwich, using sweet Hawaiian rolls, smoked ham, smoked turkey, and melted Gruyère cheese, baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package Sweet Hawaiian Dinner Rolls (12-count)
  • ½ pound deli sliced smoked ham
  • ½ pound deli sliced smoked turkey
  • ½ pound Gruyère cheese, hand grated
  • 1 stick salted butter, melted
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and mayonnaise to create a glaze.
  3. Slice each Hawaiian roll horizontally, leaving the tops attached to form a hinge.
  4. Layer ham, turkey, and grated Gruyère cheese on the bottom half of each roll.
  5. Close the rolls and brush the tops and sides with the prepared glaze.
  6. Arrange the sliders on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra crispiness, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end. Serve with a side of pickles or coleslaw.
