- 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
- 1/2 cup pepperonis
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the Italian sausage, breaking it up with a spoon, until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Add diced mushrooms, onion, and green bell pepper to the skillet; sauté until vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in pepperonis and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low and pour in the marinara sauce, mixing to combine. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Stir in half of the shredded mozzarella cheese, then transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
- Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake in a preheated 375°F (190°C) oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve hot.
Notes
