Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 green onion, sliced
  • sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned, about 5-6 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Mix in soy sauce, brown sugar, gochujang, and rice vinegar, stirring to coat the beef.
  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
  6. While the beef simmers, prepare the rice if not already cooked.
  7. Once the sauce has thickened, drizzle sesame oil over the beef and stir to combine.
  8. Serve the beef mixture over a bowl of cooked rice.
  9. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For extra crunch, add sautéed vegetables like carrots or bell peppers. Adjust sweetness or spiciness to taste.
