Description

Classic Southern deviled eggs with creamy yolk filling, tangy mustard, and a hint of sweet pickle relish.


Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon sweet pickle relish
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika for topping
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water.
  2. Bring water to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat, drain, and cool eggs under cold water for 5 minutes.
  4. Peel eggs, slice in half lengthwise, and remove yolks into a bowl.
  5. Mash yolks and mix with mayonnaise, yellow mustard, sweet pickle relish, white vinegar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  6. Pipe or spoon the mixture back into egg white halves.
  7. Sprinkle tops with paprika for garnish and serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of smoked paprika or fresh chives.
