Description

Juicy sausage and sweet peppers piled onto buttery Hawaiian rolls, melted mozzarella, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds for a flavorful bite-sized appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 orange bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 16 oz (450g) ground sausage
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 12 Hawaiian savory butter rolls
  • 8 oz (225g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon Creole seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add sliced red and orange peppers and onion; sauté 5 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook 1 minute more.
  5. Add ground sausage, breaking it up with a spoon; cook until browned, about 6 minutes.
  6. Mix in salt, Italian seasoning, and Creole seasoning; cook 1 minute.
  7. Reduce heat and stir in shredded mozzarella until melted and combined.
  8. Slice the tops off the Hawaiian rolls and hollow out a small pocket.
  9. Spread softened butter on the inside of each roll; sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  10. Spoon the sausage‑pepper mixture into each roll, filling generously.
  11. Place assembled sliders on a baking sheet and bake 12‑15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly.
  12. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For extra crispiness, toast the rolls lightly before adding fillings.
