Description

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs chicken breasts
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, ginger, black pepper, and sesame oil.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken and add chicken broth.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
  5. In a small cup, mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water to make a slurry.
  6. Stir the slurry into the slow cooker and cook on high for an additional 30 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Serve the chicken hot, garnished with sliced green onions if desired.

Notes

For a gluten‑free version, substitute soy sauce with tamari.
