- 1.5 lbs chicken breasts
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves minced garlic
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, ginger, black pepper, and sesame oil.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken and add chicken broth.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
- In a small cup, mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water to make a slurry.
- Stir the slurry into the slow cooker and cook on high for an additional 30 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Serve the chicken hot, garnished with sliced green onions if desired.
Notes
For a gluten‑free version, substitute soy sauce with tamari.
