- 1 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 packet gravy mix
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; mix until just combined.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into an oval steak.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; sear each steak 2 minutes per side until browned.
- Transfer the steaks to a slow cooker.
- In a saucepan, whisk together beef broth and gravy mix; bring to a simmer and pour over the steaks in the slow cooker.
- Cook on low for 6 to 7 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the steaks are tender.
- Serve hot, spooning extra gravy over each steak.
Notes
For extra flavor, add sautéed mushrooms or a splash of red wine to the broth before cooking.
