Description

Tender ground beef steak simmered in rich gravy, perfect for effortless weeknight meals.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet gravy mix
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; mix until just combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into an oval steak.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; sear each steak 2 minutes per side until browned.
  4. Transfer the steaks to a slow cooker.
  5. In a saucepan, whisk together beef broth and gravy mix; bring to a simmer and pour over the steaks in the slow cooker.
  6. Cook on low for 6 to 7 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the steaks are tender.
  7. Serve hot, spooning extra gravy over each steak.

Notes

For extra flavor, add sautéed mushrooms or a splash of red wine to the broth before cooking.
