Ingredients

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 Thai chilies, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Thai basil leaves
  • Neutral oil, for cooking
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • Steamed rice (optional)
  • Fried egg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat neutral oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and sliced chilies, cooking until fragrant.
  4. Add Thai basil leaves and toss briefly.
  5. In a small bowl combine dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar; pour into the pan and stir to coat the meat.
  6. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and the beef is fully cooked.
  7. Serve over steamed rice, topped with a fried egg if desired.
