- 16 oz ground beef
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 Thai chilies, thinly sliced
- 1 cup Thai basil leaves
- Neutral oil, for cooking
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 2 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 tsp sugar
- Steamed rice (optional)
- Fried egg (optional)
Instructions
- Heat neutral oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned.
- Stir in minced garlic and sliced chilies, cooking until fragrant.
- Add Thai basil leaves and toss briefly.
- In a small bowl combine dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar; pour into the pan and stir to coat the meat.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and the beef is fully cooked.
- Serve over steamed rice, topped with a fried egg if desired.
